Naprosyn 500+ relieves pain or inflammation induced by conditions such as Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Tendinitis, Bursitis, Gout, or menstrual cramps. Naproxen Sodium is the main active ingredient of this medicine. Naprosyn may also be given for conditions other than migraine headaches.
Naproxen is an NSAID or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. This medication reduces hormones in the body that cause inflammation and pain. Naproxen is sold under various trade names
Naproxen is derivative of phenyl-propionic acid. It posses having analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic activities. The drug naproxen is thought to work by inhibiting enzyme complex prostaglandin synthetase and thus reducing prostaglandins’ synthesis from arachidonic acid.
This eases the various symptoms of pain and headaches.
| How To Use | The drug dosage varies according to the patient's condition. Do not alter the dosage unless your doctor advises you to do so. Also, do not take this medication after the prescribed period is over. All medications come with a patient leaflet. Refer to the instructions in them for detailed information on that particular medication. Take Naproxen immediately or as soon as possible after your notice any pain. You may initially be given this medication under medical supervision to check if it causes severe side effects. Take one whole Naproxen tablet with a glass of water. Do not crush or break the tablet. If your pain doesn't subside completely even after taking this medication or relapses after going away, take another dose after 2 hours. Do not exceed the limit of 200mg of Naproxen oral tablets. If your condition doesn't improve further, seek immediate medical attention. Ask your doctor about the period for which the drug must be taken. Take the tablet every day continuously until your doctor tells you to stop. |

| Precautions | Some antidepressant drugs can interact with Naproxen. Inform your doctor if you are already taking an antidepressant such as Citalopram, Desvenlafaxine, Duloxetine, Escitalopram, Fluoxetine, Fluvoxamine, Paroxetine, Sertraline, or Venlafaxine. Also, let your doctor know about all other medications and products you may use. Never start a new medication without thorough medical screening and advice. Things to remember: Be sure to make all your appointments with your doctor so your progress can be checked Do not take the drug if you are allergic to its active ingredient or if you are a pregnant / breastfeeding mom. Naprosyn 500+ below 18 and above 65 years is not recommended. Also, Tell your doctor if you have severe belly cramps, have had liver disease, or bleeding or obstruction in the stomach and intestine. |

A serious side effect due to Naproxen usage is rare. The side effects felt are similar to Sumatriptan. However, few people may experience serious side effects like blue-colored nails, cold hands or feet, hearing changes, seizures, or mood changes. This medication may increase the level of serotonin in the body and rarely cause a serious condition called serotonin syndrome or toxicity. The risk of this happening increases if you take other drugs that increase serotonin.
Call your doctor immediately if you get any serious side effects from this medication. Some common side effects of Naproxen are flushing, tingling sensation, numbness, prickling, warm feeling, chest/jaw/neck tightness, weakness, drowsiness, or giddiness.
If any of these conditions persist or deteriorate, get immediate medical attention.
